Use case

The month-end close

You open the month and ask Komod to run the close. It reads your mail, your documents and your bank, lines up what it proposes, and asks where it is unsure. You approve each entry, and the owner report is drafted from what you approved.

It starts in your inbox

Most of what a close needs already arrives by email: vendor bills, lease paperwork, bank statements. Connect the inbox where those land. When you run the close, Komod reads that inbox and files each attachment as a document for you to review.

Mail is read when the close runs. If a document did not come by email, you upload it by hand. That is the exception, not the routine.

Each document is sorted and read

Komod decides what each file is: a lease, an amendment, an invoice, a bank statement, a check register from your books. Then it reads the parts that matter. Every figure it takes shows you the page and the words it came from.

A document is treated as something to read, never as an instruction to follow. If a bill says "post this now", that sentence has no power here.

Where it is unsure, it asks

Every proposed entry becomes a card in your queue. A clear one is ready to approve. An unclear one asks a question and lists the choices: which building, which account, recoverable or not.

A card that asks a question cannot be approved until you answer it. There is no way to skip the answer with a bulk click or a chat message.

Then the bank, then the draft

Komod pulls your bank activity, or reads the statement you upload, and matches each line to the approved entry it belongs to. A line it cannot match with confidence stays open and is listed, with the reason.

From what you approved, it drafts the seven-section owner report. Every figure in the draft links to the transaction, lease clause, calculation or document behind it. Posting to QuickBooks is a separate card, and only your click sends it.

You talk to it in plain words

The close is a conversation on the month's page. You can ask what it found, why a figure is what it is, or tell it to run the close again. Each step it takes is shown in the thread as it happens.

Who approved what, and when, is written once and can never be edited or deleted. That record is the close's audit trail.

What you approve

  • Each document's classification when Komod is not sure what it is
  • The terms read from each lease or amendment before they are recorded
  • Each invoice's account code and its recoverable or non-recoverable status
  • Each proposed books entry, and separately each post to QuickBooks
  • The month's lock, once the report is right

What the report shows

  • An executive summary and the cash and account balances
  • The income schedule and the expense schedule, by account
  • The payment and receipt schedule matched to the bank
  • The lease and event calendar for the month
  • Exceptions and action items, with what is still open

Your first month is free
