Year-end catch-up
Closing several months for one building in one sitting. A year desk shows all twelve months, what each one has and what it is missing, and runs the close one month at a time, each month approved by you.
One building, one year, twelve rows
Pick a building and a year. The desk shows a row per month. Each row says whether the month exists and whether it is locked. It counts the bank lines and how many are still unmatched, lists what is waiting for you, and says whether the report is drafted.
A month with no record is shown as missing, not as clean. You create it with one click. Nothing is created just by opening the page.
Bring the past in
For months already in your accounting system, export the check register and upload it. Komod reads it as the books side and lands the rows only after you approve the card. Bank statements for those months are uploaded the same way.
Leases and amendments arrive from documents. So you can open a month from before the first lease was recorded, and fill it in.
Continue, one month at a time
Continue runs the ordinary close for the next unfinished month, and stops. The desk shows what that run did and the cards it raised. You decide the cards on that month's page, and then the desk names the next month.
A month held by its cards is named, never skipped. The desk never runs two months on one click and never picks a month for you. There is no year-level journal and no year-level export; each month posts or exports on its own.
Owners see the same year
Owners read the same twelve rows in their portal: the state of each month and its report. They see counts and status, never the working.
Only an accountant can create a month, continue the close or name the next month to run. Other roles read.
What you approve
- Creating each missing month, one click each
- The check register rows for each past month before they land
- Every card the close raises for each month, on that month's page
- Each month's lock, in turn
What the report shows
- A monthly report per month, each drafted from that month's approved entries
- Opening cash carried from the prior month's closed report
- Bank lines still unmatched for each month, in its exceptions section
